This cardboard portrait was was one of a series that Adam Neate painted during one of his extended stays in Sao Paulo.
A number of Neate’s classic expressive portraits, using acrylic and aerosol paints were dissected and reassembled to creat a dynamic, powerful and emotive composition. Abstract shapes torn, sliced and layered from a Brazilian cardboard box, create a self coloured, textured background which adds to the tension of the portrait.

This painting was exhibited at Elms Lesters Painting Rooms in 2008 at the Adam and Ron Show
