ADAM NEATE LONDON BRIDGE 2008 ELMS LESTERS

In 2008 Neate painted two works of similar composition; The first was a work entitled THE FLOCK, which comprised six cardboard faces surrounded by angular finger/wing like shapes, creating an ethereal biblical scene.

‘LONDON BRIDGE’ comprised the faces of five business men, amongst a bustling crowd crossing London Bridge in rush hour in pursuit of their own dreams of fulfillment.

The frame as usual was custom made to our specifications, in this instance being lined with purple silk reminiscent of the businessmen’s ties.

This painting was one of thirteen paintings exhibited at The Atkinson Gallery in Somerset in the 2009 exhibition NATURAL SELECTION
