Exhibition Info
Andrew McAttee first came to our attention as a teenager when he painted a ‘graffiti’ backdrop in our studios for Nike.
For a period after graduating from St. Martin’s in 1995 he had a studio at Elms Lesters, and showed works in group exhibitions in the gallery.
His first ever solo show ‘SUCK IT AND SEE’ took place at Elms Lesters in 1997 when he was 25 years old.
The work was challenging and provocative and concentrated his fascination with the blurring of fact and fiction in the media.
The exhibition had funding from the then ‘London Arts Board’ who subsequently awarded him one of their prestigious ‘Individual Artist’s Awards’
